Happy to say that this one I am happy with
By Rex Griffiths
I have been a guitar player for 20yrs. I am a singer songwriter with a small home recording studio. I wanted to have a decent inexpensive acoustic electric bass to experiment with and work into my recordings. I considered this Johnson, also a Dean, a Fender, an Ibanez, and one by an outfit called Directly Cheap. All in a similar price range. I bought the Directly Cheap one - and sent it directly back. It was a piece of junk. Did some more research and settled on this Johnson. Happy to say that this one I am happy with. I changed the strings to Thomastik flat wound long scale, replaced the saddle with a TUSQ blank shaped by myself, and adjusted the truss rod. I would strongly suggest a similar setting up for best results. I found with this setup the instrument sounds and plays well. I have hardly touched my Seagull acoustic electric guitar in the few weeks since getting this new bass guitar which is really saying something. It looks nice and feels good. The large body balances the long neck and gives decent volume. Sounds good plugged in as well. I like it. Works well for me.

Just got it today and although haven't played it much it seems to be of great quality and very nice tone. especially for the money.
