Get the product advisory
By J. Holland
This is a quality product. The insulation covering the wires is made of silicone. The wires are stranded, and the end of the wires are platinum plated, so no worries about corrosion (oxidation). And yes, copper can oxidize and thus reduce the signal (voltage) going to your speakers. They say the copper is oxygen free, but I have no way of telling that.
To make sense of the wires' polarity, you have to see the product advisory. That will tell you which wire is negative and which wire is positive. I uploaded a photo of the product advisory on Customer Images.

Connects stereo speaker left/right (red/black wire inputs) to sound bar RCA inputs
By Amazon Customer
I got this to connect an older stereo speaker-out lines to a 2.0 sound bar with RCA inputs. I bought the female RCAs because I have a male/male RCA extender to go from this to the sound bar. The one disappointment was, the color coding requires some care to decode. Reference the on-line manuals that are noted in other reviews. Pay attention in particular to the red/black of the speaker outputs for left and right. The blacks should be connected to the black-striped white or gray. The solid white or gray are connected to the reds. The left/right configurations ... that is a matter of trial and error. At worst, you will have to switch either the white on left and gray on right, or you will have switch the RCA plugs. My initial install had no problems, as a test with the left/right balance on the stereo showed. The output on the sound bar "moved" left/right accordingly. I need very little output volume on the stereo to drive the sound bar to a good mid-range volume.

Did exactly what I needed with attaching some speakers with RCA plugs to my new Onkyo receiver.
