    5A Freelancer's (on a budget) DREAM
    By AGroove
As a freelance video/photographer- this mic made me give my first amazon review. I felt compelled to give my honest opinion on this mic because I spent hours trying to figure out exactly what I needed to get solid sound without a large budget. (and with a canon camcorder) I work at a local TV station with some incredible equipment- to call me "picky" is an understatement. I trusted the reviews and decided to go for it... I figured the price was worth the risk- and it was!!! This mic exceeded my expectations in every way- including the length of the original cord. I easily recorded my subjects (interviews) from 8 feet away without the use of an extension cord.
All of my interviews were recorded outdoors(in off/on windy FL weather) and I'm honestly shocked at how clean the audio is. Some cheaper mics have a tendency to not pick up on the bass, but this mic offers a very deep, rich bass without sounding too muddy.
I plan on posting video for this review as soon as I'm done with this project.
If you're on a budget- i think this mic gives you the most bang for your buck! I think it could hold its own against most mics I've worked with.
Bottom Line: This mic won't break your bank or your budget. Worst case scenario- you've got a solid back up mic. Something every videographer should have.

Works okay, but the long flimsy wire is very inconvenient and a threat to break. The battery died after just a few hours of use. I hope a fresh one lasts longer.

Update: a new battery did not solve the problem so am returning the mic to Amazon. Disappointing.

5Very good battery operated lavalier mic
    By AmazonUserFromCanada123
Wasn't sure what to expect but this battery (LR44) operated lavalier mike seems to work fine plugged into the Canon Vixia R700 camcorder's external mic input. Loud too. I have been told that one button LR44 battery will last for 8 hours. PS. I am new to the world of lavalier mics and do not know how more expensive lavalier's compare in sound quality. But I find that for $25, this mic sounds pretty good.

This lavalier mic is still running on the same battery. Excellent. I also plugged it into the Zoom H2N and it works well.
