top bargain upgrade stylus
read about this upgraded stylus in Stereophile magazine (July 2015/vol38,no7) .i used it (as suggested) with the Shure SC35C cartridge.they replace an approx.4yo Grado Green cartridge that i had been using on my MusicHall USB-1 'table.it's quite a bit better than the Grado--a bit better soundstage, crisp and clear w/ very good bass.i was so overjoyed at how good it was,i even wrote to the magazine to thank the author for his recommendation:) .excellent bargain stylus/cartridge combination for DJ-style turntables w/ heavier arms.very simple operation to swap out the stock SC35 stylus and pop the N35X unit.i found it to track very nicely on my 'table at 3grams.
will buy again when this one wears out.

Records sound clearer and brighter
Bought this for a replacement for the styli that came with my SC35C cartridge that some store clerk recommended for my Numark turntable. Then I read it was really meant for scratch and tracked at 5 grams. Not everyone wants to scratch. I am getting off the subject, sorry, But now my records never sounded this good before. It fit nice and tight in the cartridge opening. I never heard such good channel separation before. Records sound clearer and brighter too. I am not an expert, but there there really is a positive difference. It was five dollars more than the original styli that would of been a direct replacement for the SC35C . Makes me wonder what I am missing for not buying the $199 Shure cartridge / styli.

Recommended by "Stereophile." This DJ spherical stylus tracks at 3 grams. It does not rattle around the grooves and chop them up like those fancy ellipticals. Amazingly it sounds as good if not better. I always wondered why my old mono records have no surface noise. It is because they were played with spherical styli tracking at 3 to 5 grams. They still sound great. There is no reason to buy any other cartridge at any price.
