Beautiful Guitar! Clean crispy sound.
Guitar arrived. I was a little concern about the packaging, delivered it in good shape, etc. The packaging was not the best, I was expecting a little better packaging from Amazon. They sent it with the flimsy cardboard box Yamaha put together, and it seems to me this packaging is for in store sale not online sale. Anyway, FedEx did a good job, guitar arrived in good shape.
We ordered the Rosewood, Vintage Cherry, sound is crispy, clean and sharp. My wife loves it. Beautiful Guitar!
We had a dilemma buying a classic or an acoustic. Still we have in mind a classic, but we are happy with this acoustic guitar.
Of course, Made in China, where else? The Chinese made everything for the world today anyway. Will report more later...

The Yamaha FG730S is a real looker (got mine in cherry sunburst) and it sounds fantastic! The action was perfect (for my taste)
By Russell Gurss
Let me start by saying WOW! What a beauty. The Yamaha FG730S is a real looker (got mine in cherry sunburst) and it sounds fantastic! The action was perfect (for my taste). I like the action low enough to make playing easy but not so low it creates fret buzz and this guitar delivered right out of the box. The construction is very good quality. I could not find any flaws in the finish, the binding, the neck or the frets. The first time I strummed a few cords I knew I got a great deal. Yes, there are higher end Taylors and Martins (for $600.00 and up) but for $300.00 you will have something that blows away almost all guitars in the $300.00 price range. I liked this guitar so much that I ordered the same guitar with pickups (Yamaha FGX730SC for $500.00) in Brown Sunburst and it is simply gorgeous not to mention it sounds fantastic amped up! By the way both guitars are solid top which makes a huge difference in sound. The Bass strings are deep and warm while the Treble strings are bright and crisp without a tinny metallic sound. Both guitars are holding tune perfectly. The break in period was extremely fast. I think I have only had to tune each guitar 2-3 times during the first two weeks. This guitar is perfect for someone who has learned the basic cords and is ready to take the next step to a better sounding instrument. If you are playing a $150.00 to $250.00 dollar plain Jane guitar, buy the FG730S. I promise you will love it. If you require pups on your acoustic the Yamaha FGX730SC is a very good choice.

It is beautiful and has really nice tone and sound
By Laurie Grigley
This is my first Guitar. I reviewed extensively before I purchased it. It is beautiful and has really nice tone and sound. My only problem is that I have rather small hands and the neck of the guitar is difficult for me to reach around. I would not recommend it for youth or people with small hands. I wish I had read a review like this one before purchasing.
