Wide Array Of Tones, Wish The Fit And Finish Was Better Though
I used to own the original Holy Grail Reverb pedal back around 2002, and it was simply amazing. So when it came time to get another reverb pedal recently, the Cathedral was a no brainer. It's got that amazing sound that's just miles above any other reverb pedal out there. The only minor nag I have is in regards to the actual finish on the unit. Whomever EHX put in charge of painting the cases should be fired. The first one I received had MAJOR unpainted spots on the side, and Amazon was cool enough to let me exchange it. The second one I received had what were clearly paint bubbles that had popped at some point, and left behind defects in the paint finish. I realize we're not talking about a $1000 guitar here, but $220 is a nice chunk of change for a pedal, and I think the attention to quality and detail should really be evident at that price point.

Lots of options... not a "quickie"..."infinite" button is cool.
By L. Irish
Tremendous reverb, lots of options and controls, actually will work as an echo unit. The Cathedral is not a simple, "set a couple of controls and go" deal, the more time you spend learning about how actual reverberatio works: pre-delay, how tone is affected in the reverberation field, etc. -- the better off you'll be, and the better you'll sound.
Has the ability to store and access pre-sets, which is truly useful (more than one would be nice, but then it would be a much more complex pedal) but probably the coolest thing for me is the "infinite" feature. I'm in a three-piece band, and when I start a song, I can set a nice lush reverb, play a chord or get some note(s) feeding back, then hold the infinite button down, and play over the "wash". It's quite an awesome sound; the wash just continues on and on and the un-reverberated guitar plays over it. Sweet. Goes back to normal reverb operation when you take your foot off the button.
I'd buy it again, but I need some time to work on it and "find" the pre-sets for different songs.Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Pedal

Good Unit. Read why I chose it
By Chris Bohrer
Durable metal Unit. Performs all functions as are stated and appear on YouTube demonstrations. Easy to use. (If you're not familiar with these types of effects pedals, the Cathedral directions are clear--read 'em.) The quality of the sound is equal to and usually exceeds in quality that of similar pedals. Internal electrical componentry superior to that used in other popular brands. Finally, this unit is made by Americans in NYC, USA--NOT IN CHINA. I personally called these people about this unit prior to purchase--nice, helpful folks. (Note: This unit operates only with a supplied power adaptor; it does not incorporate a battery--and that's good in my opinion. Anyway, where will you use this device that has no AC?)
