Etymotic HF5 / HF3 / HF2 users, rejoice! PLUS a HACK to restore high-end crispness!
By J. Gordon
The tips that come wiht the Etymotic headset downright suck in my opinion. The Etymotic tips are very uncomfortable, have an insecure fit, and for reasons beyond my comprehension prevent the headset from really shining in the low end. The highs were almost too crisp and the low end clearly was lacking.
No longer! With these Shure tips on my Etymotic, I'm in auditory heaven. These Shure tips are incredibly comfortable. Installed, the high-end softens up a bit and the low end is finally where it should be.
The Etymotic headset tips do not have any grill obstructing the sound. The Shure's do. I assumed that this was why the high end softened up a bit. I tediously cut out the grill from the Shure tips and the high end was restored to the quality of the Etymotic tips.

Also work on Klipsch S4 earbuds
By J. Allen
My Shure SE110's have been phenomenal in durability and sound quality. Sadly, they disappeared (probably the wife) so I found myself having to find a replacement. After reading the reviews of the Klipsch S4, I was sold (bonus that they were half the price of my Shure...). My only regret was the preference to the Shure foam sleeves as an, almost complete, noise isolation device.
After trying all the various silicone sleeves supplied with the S4's; I was not happy with their fit or noise isolation. I was so happy to discover that these foam sleeves fit perfectly on my new earbuds. Happy ears once again!
Hopefully I can hide these better from the wife before she decides to replace her "borrowed" Shures...

Good enough to get the job done. Buy extras.
I'm on my second pair of Shure earbuds and, just as with the first pair, I was disappointed with how quickly the foam wears out. Especially since I have small ear canals and can't use any of the other sleeves comfortably. I bought these replacements in the hopes that I won't actually need them, but want them around just in case, as I also purchased the Radians custom molded earplugs to get around the whole mess. At least for a while.
These sleeves do effectively isolate you from your environment. They are comfortable (enough) for me, though not for more than a few hours. They do not hold up well over regular use. Ideally, if they are used daily, they should be replaced every 1-2 weeks. I try to get a month out of a pair, and it isn't pretty. Or comfortable.
All that being said, I would still recommend these sleeves. They're a pain to deal with sometimes, and I hate that I have to continually buy more stuff to use the fairly expensive earbuds, but, it's the cost of ownership for 'buds with great sound.
