Replacement strings for student classical guitar - sound very nice
Our son has been taking lessons for a few months and his teacher suggested replacing the strings on his Yamaha classical guitar. The teacher recommended D'Addario nylon-based strings for this guitar, and we purchased this EJ45 set.
Right from the beginning, his teacher told us that new nylon strings take a while to tune... he said that they stretch, and gave us instructions to re-tune the new strings twice a day for at least the first two weeks and then daily thereafter as needed. His estimate that the tuning demands would calm down after about two weeks was right on the mark -- we had to tune them daily for a few days after that, and then weekly thereafter (which is totally normal for nylon strings).
Bottom line: These strings sound nice, especially the bass strings. They were easy to string on the guitar, and they dialed in to proper tune in about three weeks after being installed (which was exactly what we were told to expect).
We would purchase these again for our son's guitar, and we will also try other nylon sets from D'Addario to compare and contrast both the sound and tuning experiences.
If you have a similar need and are looking for strings in this price range, we recommend the EJ45s. Remember - nylon stretches, so be patient with the tuning process for a few weeks and you will end up happy.

Very nice and inexpensive strings
Rating guitar strings is almost impossible. It depends on the guitar strung and on personal preference. These strings provide good tone, reasonable loudness for "normal" tension strings, and are very inexpensive compared to others. Why didn't I include the fifth star? They weren't as good as the similar tension strings they replaced which were louder and had better base tones to my ears. They held their tuning and laster a good while. However, the other strings cost double from Amazon. A personal value judgment on my part, not a absolute judgment.

Just buy these and try them.
I purchase this set for my Yamaha Classical guitar. First time changing the strings and they sure needed it. What a difference in sound after putting these on. Nice warm soft sound. I had to check the D'Addario videos to learn how to tie the ends through the bridge holes. These don't have ball ends. No problem doing it with a peg winder and tuner. Anyway these are nice strings and I am sure they will please you.
Hope this helps.
